I'm trying to find the correct drivers for the above laptop. I found this thread How To's: Acer Aspire 5672 , but it seems some of the links no longer work. This system had XP Home originally and the HDD died. I installed a new HDD and want to install XP Pro, have disk, and do away with all the Acer stuff. I've already performed a clean install once before of XP Pro, but wasn't able to find the correct drivers for several pieces of hardware. I'm in the USA. Is there even an Acer USA? I can't seem to find the drivers at Acer. I have my original backup disk that I created using Acer erecovery and an XP pro install disk.
I didn't really notice this problem until I started using my Linux Mint Laptop (Acer Aspire 5672 WLMi) to develop some software but when I look at my screen really closely there appears to be wavy horizontal lines constantly running up and down the screen. This is a default Linux Mint machine so I'm thinking that perhaps I need to install a proper ATI video driver? Here is some detail of the graphics adapter: Code: I'm looking through the Xorg logs (/var/log/xorg.0.log) and it looks like the OS is loading ATI drivers but I'm not quite sure if I'm seeing this correctly? Code: I'm not really sure what to do at this point. These wavy lines are getting irritating but I don't want to spin off in another direction and break my display all together if I dork something up. From a distance the screen looks great but upon close inspection there are subtle horizontal lines constantly moving from the bottom to the top of the screen.
Right down to the matter at hand. Yesterday I was working on my laptop, plugged in, but charging, about 40%, when all of a sudden it shuts down. I wasnt doing anything overly stressful, CPU's were each at about 50% load tops (Ubuntu 8.10, mysql, apache2, rythmbox, firefox, opera, some file browsers, pidgin). My initial thought was that the power supply adapter had gone - thus it was draining whilst i worked and i hadnt noticed (since the connector is a little worn). I noticed that the little green light was blinking rapidly on it. However when I unplugged it from the laptop, it returned to its static green state. I went to remove the HDD today as i had to get my work from it, so I thought I would try to start it up anyway. Nothing. Whilst removing the HDD i noticed an occasional clicking (3 little consecutive clicks to be precise, as if it were trying to start but just couldnt. This happened a few times, until I removed the battery, then it stopped. I can replicate this by turning it on and it will keep happening until I remove the battery. Also I have gone inside, attempted to clean any dust off and cleaned the battery contacts, so it is unlikely to be anything like that. I know its an old laptop these days and sometimes these things die, but this thing has been my baby. I learnt to code on this thing, I learnt Linux on this thing and I'm not giving it up without a fight.
Everytime i try to install vista (from lots off different sources, even from acer dvd upgrade pack) on Acer Aspire 5112 WLMI I get blue screen error 0000008e . I have done some researching and found out that this is either wrong bios version or a problem with drivers. I flashed the bios (latest is 3.10, right? Checked RAM and disk with programs. Everything is fine.
I'm trying to help a friend with his Acer Aspire 5003 WLMi computer, and if you guys can't help me get this to work, I have to resort to reinstalling Windows XP on his computer. I've tried with f34cutter and the Windows driver with ndiswrapper, and both ways should work (many others seems to have got it working), but I haven't. I can't keep up with this much longer (he wants to have his laptop back someday), and I will post the relevant info as soon as you need it.
I have an Acer Aspire 5004 WLMi laptop with the SiS M760GX video chip. Under Gentoo the graphics worked perfectly but not so under my new Fedora 13 installation. There is enormous flicker with large regions where the pixels are miscolored. I used Code: # X -configure to create the xorg.conf file which is here. It contains the same driver, SiS, which worked under Gentoo.
I've got an acer aspire 5672 and I can't get passed my login screen anymore. The keyboard and touchpad do not respond. I tried in safe mode and there they do. There was one time where they did respond but then they stopped right after loggin in. The system seems to keep running though, as the cursor blinks etc, it's just that I cannot do anything. As it does work in safe mode, it must be a software thing, no?
I installed opensuse 11.3 succesfully on my acer aspire 5670 (5672) laptop. Everything works except wireless connection. Looking for a solution is follewed the " My wireless doesn't work - a primer on what I should do next" guide on this forum. These are the results i become: (2) Determine what device you have.: 03:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 3945ABG [Golan] Network Connection (rev 02) [Code]...
I have an Acer Aspire 5652 WLMi. I've just bought a new battery for it but when I insert it to the laptop after it starts it says "This is not an acer battery please check your battery" and shuts off. Also it doesn't seem to charge because the little orange light flashes instead of staying on. Do you know if there is a hidden program that doesn't allow new batteries?
I have an Acer Aspire 5672WLMi laptop and it has a built-in OrbiCam, every once in a while I hear a sound as if I was plugging/unplugging an USB device, sometimes it does that twice and then stops but there's times, like a few mins ago, that it goes crazy and I get a Blue Screen. The message I get is "File lv321.sys has caused an error. Page fault in non paged area" and makes me restart. After I do that, Microsoft Error Reporting tells me that I should update the drivers although I already did that or to unplug the camera, which is impossible since it's built in. I have searched on Google but couldn't find much information except perhaps the wires that connect the camera might be loose/damaged and that's what causing it. I have disabled it on the Device manager but it won't solve anything. Is there a way to completely disable the camera port? What can I do to fix it? The laptop is almost 2 years old and is not under warranty.
i own an aspire 5672 wmli i`ve done many upgrades to it and always try to have the latest updates for all my drivers but i`m curious i see in the europe site has different bios updates with different dates there is a update wich is the latest on 3239 from 2008 and there is another from 2/23/2007 3236 but under vista now i use vista ultimate should i use the one for vista is there some difference, some integration for vista or something or just go for the latest 3239?
I'm running an Acer Aspire 5672 WLMI. Recently i upgraded my RAM and hard drive, obviously having to reinstall the OS and driver's etc. Since i made the change, i haven't been able to get the Orbicam or usb ports on the left side of my computer to work. Luckily there are still 2 ports on the right side that work fine, and the entire rest of the computer is great, but i'd like these things to work (especially the camera). I've re-installed everything 3 times at this point with no luck. The drivers are installed and in programs the camera is listed as an optional webcam. The first time i reformatted i got and error message that said camera is currently in use and cannot be accessed. It would ding on and off repeatedly until i rebooted the computer. Currently what the camera does is basically nothing. It's detected, but when pulled up in a program (such as gmail or acer software) it's simply black. I am wondering if i maybe jostled something inside and it's disconnected or if this is a software issue.
I'm looking for a driver for built-in Logitech webcam Acer Aspire 5680. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate. I've tried this: Acer Support - Drivers & Download Acer doesn't seem to have drivers for Windows 7. The XP/Vista drivers do not work. Windows 7 cannot find the webcam. Any ideas, folks?

I have a problem with my laptop, is an acer aspire 5672wmli, the model with 1gb of ram. The drive is a Matsushita UJ-845-S, when it was new it had a firmware version 1.00 and they gave me some incompatible problems with some media, so i decided to flash with a newer version, 1.02 and after that the drive work well but I was unable to did the boot from cd. The firmware page is this: [url] The firmware 1.02 is for toshiba OEM and this is why it give me this problem. So now wath I can do, I send an email to acer-support but they want only that i send to acer but i must pay because is my fault . My question is, I see some internal dvd drivers for notebook to buy, so I can buy one and replace with my?. All internal drives can work fine if I replace or i must see some technical caractheristics?
This is just my attempt to put Windows 7 on my Aspire 5672. I know its an older model now, heck it came out in 2006 before even Vista. So I've kept it on Win XP for quite a while, hoping Vista drivers would be worked on. Now that I'm cleaning out all the junk, I figure might as well reformat. Sadly Acer doesn't provide Vista drivers for this model. Might as well try Windows 7 RC and try finally moving to 64-bit. Windows 7 installs smoothly, no fuss. Getting drivers is now the issue. If I can get the minimal devices to work with the same usage as I had under XP, I'll stick with Win 7. - Video: this uses the Mobility Radeon x1600. Sadly ATI deliberately does not support it through their Catalyst drivers. So have to use the Mobility Modder. Sadly it doesn't seem to work for the latest Catalyst versions Ultimately I went with DNA-ATI drivers which are pre-modded. 9.4 removes support for everything but their HD 2000 and higher series. 9.3 causes a WDM crash 9.2 seems to work okay [url] One thing now is that the driver is unsigned and won't load. Using the Driver Signature Override tool doesn't seem to work, nor the test mode bcdedit switch...........
Over the past few months I noticed my laptop was super hot to touch and the fan was working overtime. I put this down to the additional memory and bluetooth device I installed 6 months ago. The laptop began powering off without warning. It would just die. I took out the memory and turned off the bluetooth and started disabling services I did not need in Windows XP. This seemed to work for a short time. I noticed the fan going full speed whenever I used GFX intensive games. After power-off in the middle of a battle in Civ IV I decided enough. Searched on-line and found some interesting notebook tools that reported the temperature of the CPU. Yep it was super hot. It appeared to be operating about 86oC. The system will power off once the CPU reach a critical threshold. I figured the fan effectiveness must be reduced. I opened up the 5672 and took a look at the fan. Sure enough the dust was like looking into my vacuum cleaner. I spent about an hour with a small screw driver, tweezers, some cotton swabs (q-tips) and alcohol based cleaner bulling balls of fluff out of the fan enclosure. After I got all the clog out the CPU now operates a comfortable 55oC. No super fan blowing or sudden-power off.
My fan on my Aspire 5672 recently failed and I need to get me another one. I've looked all over these forums and all the links that I have found with any help were out of stock. I was wondering if someone can point me in the right direction of where to buy one, as I'm really desperate at this point. (I even bought one from a website and they failed to inform me that it's out of stock even tho it was in stock on their site.... They still haven't given me the refund yet!) I've contacted Acer Canada and they told me part is discontinued cause the laptop is out of warranty and they sent me to a place which was also out of stock.
I own an Acer Aspire 5672AWLMI (5670 series) Inter Core duo 1,7, 2GB Ram, Ati Mobility Radeon x1600, 120GB SATA HD @ 5400rpm. I am thinking of making 2 upgrades after 2 years of great functionality (despite the fact that it rises high temperatures and i mostly use it on Thermaltake's TaiChi cooler) 1)Upgrade exesting HD to Hitachi Deskstar 500 GB Internal SATA Hard Drive 7200 RPM, 16 MB Buffer - Serial ATA 3.0 Gbps 2) Upgrade RAM to 3 or 4GB The reason i am writing is to ask if this Hard drive is compatible with my mobo or should i try to update BIOS or is not compatible at all. What is the best option for RAM - modules, vendors etc
I Just upgraded my 5672 to Windows Vista with a clean installation, installed all drivers from Acer's site. When I am using skype with bluetooth headset (Samsung WEP200) it crashes my computer to a blue screen does a memory dump and reboots. This happens every time after about 10-20 minutes of skype usage. Everything else seems to work fine for hours on end. Secondly I still have an unknown device in device manager after installing all the drivers from Acers site, anyone know what device that could be? The hardware ID is "ACPISMCB000"
I bought an Acer 5672 WLMI a little over 2 years ago. I thought the Acer offered good value for the money. The specs were Intel Core Duo processor T2300, 2GB RAm, X1400 ATI Video card, 120gb HDD, 15.4" screen, winXp Pro -cost of the system was $1800 + tax (Canadian dollars). The 5672 always ran hot. It was almost hard to keep it on my lap it sometimes got so hot. I was not even gaming. I was just doing standard web browsing/word processing. The bottom of the latop got so hot that is basically disintegrated most of the Microsoft WinXP Certification sticker. I pulled the bottom cover off and there was nothing obstructing the CPU Fan. I also would intermittently get a green/blue? line about 3-4 inches wide down the middle of the screen. This green/blue line was intermittent. Generally, the screen problem and the heat problem became worse as the 5672 became older. After 15 months the hard drive failed. I put in a new 160gb HDD. Acer never gave me the original winXP CD and the Win XP Certification Sticker had burned itself off. I reinstalled another copy of winXP Pro that I had. The laptop ran ok for a bit, but then the wireless starting acting up...I would get dropped wireless connections and sometimes it could not detect wireless signals that I knew were there. I stopped using the wireless completely. After about 18 months the CPU fan started to make an intermittent noise. At approx 2 years, the CPU fan failed completely. I thought I could replace the CPU fan, but realized the CPU was an intergrated unit with cooling tubes and cooled the CPU chip in addition to some other chips on the motherboard. I checked the Acer web site and did not see this part listed (not many parts were listed). I checked on ebay saw a few posting for a new fan/cooling unit -cost was approx $170. I debated whether or not I wanted to spend $200 and time fixing a 2 year laptop...that always ran hot and had some potential screen issues. For a few days I ran the latop with no CPU fan and used an external fan to try and keep everything cool. I had motherboard monitor and could see this was not working and temps were getting high. I was debating what to do, when the laptop just died. The screen displayed a bunch of funky colours and then it just died. I was able to power it up again, but a few minutes later it did the same thing (funky colours on the display and shutdown by itself). I tried rebooting and nothing..it was dead. I pulled the hard drive and checked that it was ok...............
The only thing Im missing to downgrade vista to xp is the sata controller I cant find it anywhere for the Extensa 4630Z. I found Slipstream drivers but it was for downgrading a acer aspire laptop and they didnt work. I checked intel's site for sata controller drivers they arent there. When tried slipstream drivers I found filename called " iaahci.inf " I used nlite to intergrate them on cd im still getting a blue screen so they arent compatible. Why doesnt acer's support site have these sata drivers?
just brought acer aspire 4937G to replace my dead 5584(which the graphics card dead). so reinstall XP from old laptop to new one. before i install the graphics driver, i'm able to adjust the brightness. but after i install the driver(latest from acer), i totally cannot adjust the brightness. is either very dim, or very bright. i tried getting latest driver from nvidia, but during setup, only HD audio, dont have any display driver to install.
I recently formatted my Acer Aspire 5935G and downloaded and installed all drivers from the Acer website. I currently am experiencing the following probs: 1. The Acer PowerSmart Button is not working (cannot find drivers / application to make it work) 2. Cannot switch from the onboard video card (Intel) and the "discrete" one which is an ATI Radeon Mobility 4570 HD - Both video cards are installed Current OS - Vista Ultimate x86 SP1
Here is new Windows 7 drivers for many Acer laptops (Acer Aspire 3410 and up!) : [url] The new Realtek Audio Driver is awesome (Including HDMI support!) on Acer 6930G, it fixes a lot of problems. ! I have not tried the new Launch Manager yet, but I guess it works like a charm ^ _ ^
I have an Aspire 5672 and had it plug into an outlet when the circuit breaker went of in the house and when I turned it back on the Laptop there was nothing (no power light or charging with or without the battery). I am sure that I messed up something, but I am not sure how bad it is. I am comfortable digging into the workings and took it apart once already just to see if it might be a bad connection or if the had some sort of inline fuse.
I havea new Acer aspire 5950 laptop. I try to connect it with hp laserjet 1020. Acer try to solve the problem and finds tne drivers from the page of Hp. In the middle of installation it stops it and says only Acer stop driver installation..
I have a acer aspire 5920. It's HD crashed. I installed new HD and I wanted to shift to windows 7. I have also installed the Windows 7 . Now I need to install drivers for acer aspire 5920. Like grafics, audio, Internet and VGA (compatible to windows 7). Anyone can give me any idea? Besides,is Acer aspire 4520 graphics window 7 64bits driver will work for acer 5920?
I have a new Aspire 8935G with Vista 32 preinstalled. Take audio drivers for example. Acer update site reports Realtek audio driver version 188.8.131.5247 for my system. If I switch to Seven 32, it reports 184.108.40.20615. If I look for Aspire 8940G, Vista 32 (same audio hardware as mine), I see 220.127.116.1118, and, finally, 8940G Seven 32 has 18.104.22.16830. They are all different from official Realteak drivers: they are at version 2.39 and lacks a control panel element (from Realtek...) that is present in the Acer divers, the one with the desk picture and the speakers around the room. First question is: does Acer ever update drivers for different system or they just offer the drivers that were present in the retailed system? Second: how comes the Realtek drivers lack the control panel component?
After reinstalling Windows on my mother's 3000 WLMi, everything works as expected, except there is no sound. I have tried installing drivers off the Acer website, and checking all the sound controls, but to no avail.
My poor Acer 1810T Olympic Edition, after I slipped on stairs. No scratch, thanks to the neoprene case. Works perfectly except for a beautiful crack on the screen glass. I'm using an Acer -- replacement LCD for $99 from eBay. No $500 LCD's (like for the Sony Vaio P series) And I'm just going to cannibalize my Acer Aspire One 11.6" netbook for now. All Acer-manufactured 11.6's use identical screens (Acer Ferrari One, Gateway 11.6" netbook, Acer Aspire One 11.6", Acer 1410 series, Acer 1810 series)
Looks like Acer is moving the Acer Aspire 1410 notebook line into their netbook segment with the Aspire One 752. The 752 looks identical to the 1410 and will ship with the same Celeron processors as the current 1410 line. There is also a new TimelineX 1830T which looks like it might be replacing the 1810s. I Have The Acer Aspire 8920G that i Want do to downgread to XP. And have been search google for hours trying to find the XP driver. ATI RADEON HD3650 512mb XP drivers. I called acer and ATI no result. all other drivers you can find on this site. [url]
My Acer 5672 has Intel Core Duo T2300. This processor has 32 arc (if I am not mistaken) Does it mean I can install and use Vista 64?
I've been getting this weird, on and off, random, buzzing/almost scraping noise from the fan of my Acer 5672 laptop. It spins really loudly, I'm assuming the ball bearings are going bad or something's wrong. Is there any store or place I can check to buy a replacement? I know it's a Sunon brand fan/heatsink, but I've been searching around endlessly for a place to buy a replacement.
I have an acer 5672 and since a week or 3 my battery is not responding anymore, no charging, not seeing the icon, battery remaining always at 0%, although when I unplug the power I can still do some 15-20 minutes with it. I also have this problem: [url] and it seems related to my battery.
Just updated to Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit. Everything seems to be working fantastic! But it seems the audio driver isn't right, as the sub isn't working and there's no mention of it in the Sound settings. The driver Acer supplies on their website for the Acer Aspire 6920 with Windows Vista Premium x32 also lacks this. Where can I download the appropriate driver?
Before I start I know exactly what a RC version of the OS is and that it is expected to have bugs and other annoyance, as well as no official driver support etc. But wondering if anybody has a fix to this problem: The laptop is an Acer Aspire 5044 WLMi, 1.8ghz Turion, 1.5GB Ram, 80GB HDD. Windows 7 has installed correctly and is running. Drivers for all the hardware have been successfully installed and the laptop is running just as well as a Windows XP fresh install. Only problem is that although the Wireless Card (Atheros AR5005G) is showing as functioning correctly in Device manager, the laptop is not picking up the wireless network in our house even, no matter where I take the laptop to................
I installed 7 few weeks ago on my aspire 1690 and I've no sound. the sound device is a ac-link. i've tried every driver I found on the net, without any success. some topic that i read, but don't solve my problem: SO close - Conexant AC-Link Audio Driver Acer Aspire 1680 sound card not recognized
Need my WiFi drivers for my Acer Aspire 5560. I no longer have the repair disc for the Aspire, but was reciveing a lot of errors and decided to use another disc to reinstall Windows 7. Once W7 was installed I was still missing my network drivers.

I've tried to install ubuntu 10.10 on a rather old Acer 3610 1.5 GHZ notebook previously running Windows XP. The problem I've encountered is that Acer Aspire 3613 WLMi is restricted to 2 GB RAM. But ubuntu 10.10 stops installation process (using LiveCD) because the Acer RAM is detected to be less than the 2.5 GB minimum expected by ubuntu. Also no Internet connection is detected when LiveCD is run .. but that is another problem. The Internet connection on my ubuntu 10.10 is fine as this post proves! What ubuntu version (or other linux distro) is recommended to install with just 2 GB RAM?
Have done a clean install of VISTA HP. Keep being prompted to install driver for "Mass storage controller". Device manager shows it with yellow exclamation mark. Windows cannot locate a driver. Looked on the Acer site but unsure what to install for this one. Device manager just calls it "other device" Acer Aspire 9301awsmi.
I bought a new Acer Aspire E5-521-65BL and I'm having problems using the touchpad. It is switched on, but it isn't working very well. When I look in the device manager, I see HID-mouse twice, but I can't see a touchpad installed. I tried to download and install the synatics driver from the acer website, but I only get a message that the driver is up to date.
I upgraded my Acer Aspire 5672 from win xp to Windows 7 hm prem 32bit. I realised that the keybd and touchpad fails to function when I have the battery unit installed, but they work fine as soon as I remove it. Before the upgrade, I run the microsoft upgrade advisor program and it did not flag the battery. Secondly, I dual boot with ubuntu 12.04 and the keybd and touchpad works well in the ubuntu platform except that it receive very minimal charge. The laptop runs on the minimally charged battery for a short period.
I have an acer aspire 5610z and i know it is not compatable with windows 7 according to acer but everything works apart from the audio!when i go onto device manager there is no audio tab but when i go to system> there is a "high definition audio controller" which i have been trying to install the audio drivers to because the usual audio device is not there in device manager.I have done a fresh install and updated the majority of the drivers but i cannot find the audio one anywhere ive tried downloading the vista one and running it in compatibility mode and it is a realtek one that is reccomended.

The sound on my Acer Aspire notebook is skipping and lagging. I've already downloaded the newest Realtek audio drivers from the Acer website. I tried to reset the DMA settings but got this result: "No resettable ATA channels with Windows drivers found. Nothing changed."
When I put the brand new Intel Wireless-AC7260 WLAN Card into Acer Aspire V3-471G, it got problems. It unable to go BIOS, keyboard hang (Unable to type), it crash the Windows 7 and 8.1. Is it possible to upgrade to Intel Wireless AC-7260 WLAN Card into the Acer Aspire V3-471G. I'm having a problem with my notebook Acer Aspire 6920 since i installed my Windows 7. The camera driver doesn't work....( Acer Crystal Eye Driver Camera) Does anybody had this problem? How did you guys solve this? I tried already run as ADM.. but didn't work. I'm running a 64 bit OS.
I recently bought an acer aspire 7535 - 5415. Specifications can be found here: It came preinstalled with Windows 7 but I formatted it and installed Windows XP for which drivers are available on acer's website. Now I am having problems finding drivers for the wireless device and ethernet on it. I have tried the various drivers available online including acer's website but none of them seem to work so I think I am doing something wrong. I just run the installer for the drivers but that doesnt make any difference. Currently in device manager, two devices show up with a question mark along them: 1. Ethernet Controller 2. Network Controller Installing different drivers makes no difference, including the ones posted on acer's website. So I dont know if I am doing something wrong or if the drivers are faulty. Can someone point me to the proper drivers or the proper procedure for installing the network controllers I need.
I have an Acer Aspire 5745 and it has Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit. I have Intel HD Graphics version 22.214.171.1244. I decided to upload it so I searched my laptop on Acer's site but they offer drivers for 64bit only so I downloaded drivers for another Acer model laptop (it uses the same drivers as my model does). I tried to install it but it says "The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer manufacturer".So I decided to update my driver through device manager and I asked it to update from the folder where I had extracted the driver downloaded from Acer's site.
i have acer aspire 5738G witho windows windows vista i upgrade OS to windows 7 and every think ok but my problem with acer powr smart manager didnot work when i press the button not work and lamp not light and not work and open launch manager and i select power smart manager.exe but no change... i have acer upgrade kit and i try install drivers and app but no change
Could not access wireless Netgear WNR2000, www after installing Ubuntu onto Acer Aspire 3690 - worked fine w/windows, before. Figured I needed drivers so went to Acer and put them on thumb drive. I've now, got them on the desk-top of the Acer but don't think that's where they shoud be.
I've recently purchased the Aspire 5739G off Newegg and would like to install XP on the machine. Fortunately, there are official XP drivers for this model on the Acer support website. I've downgraded before and know the procedure of slipstreaming the SATA drivers. Which drivers do I slipstream for this model? I noticed on the drivers page there is a SATA AHCI Driver. Is this the driver to slipstream?
whether I can replace the Elantech drivers with Synaptics drivers, I have tried adjusting the sensitivity in my Elantech touchpad in my Acer Aspire 5750 but still not comfortable with it.I have tried to use windows7 generic drivers by uninstalling Elantech drivers but when I restart Elantech drivers are installed again. would preferably like to install Synaptics drivers if that's possible but I am not sure whether that will work.
I have an Acer Aspire One laptop and can use, with the drive's power adaptor, a SONY DRX-S70U-R external drive. However, the Acer won't power -- through just the USB hookup to the external drive -- the SONY drive without the SONY power adaptor. I would like for my Acer and external drive truly to operate off battery power in those cases where I need to do so. Is there some type of external battery that could power the SONY external drive for its use with my Acer Aspire One?
A few days ago I was bought a new Acer Aspire 5935G-744G50N notebook. I would like to install the original nvidia 185.85 WHQL driver for the GT130M video card from the nvidia site. But the installer drop down me and doesn't installed the driver. He says: "Doesn't found components for the driver". Or something like that. Okay, I install back the original Acer-Nvidia driver from the driver backup dvd, but the screen brightness is too dark. I repaired the system with the system-restore. I delete again the originally installed Acer-Nvidia driver, and I download a modded .inf with nvidia driver from the laptopvideo2go.com. That's generate a bad screen resulation and after some installs black sreens. After it, I download a "Dox" modded driver from here, too, but it doesn't work correctly, too. My question is: How I install newest Nvidia drivers for this good laptop?
So I am trying to install my Realtek 8191SU wireless Driver but because I am a noob I don't understand everything that they say in the read me file from where I downloaded the linux version of this driver. I own an acer aspire 3104 wlmi from 3100 series. It has a Sempron mobile CPU and i'd like to change to a Turion X2. I bought a Turion X2 TL-52 and tried to upgrade it. With the last bios the Turion is recognized by the motherboard and the very first time started well on win xp pro. But just when windows installed "ACPI Multiprocessor driver" then it didn't reboot nevermore. With a system test software i tested the cpu. This software tested cpu1 and cpu2, but it failed only the "processor control cpu2 test". Now i understand that maybe the motherboard doesn't have the multiprocessor support or it doesn't have it enabled. I looked for a jumper but nothing... Also the service manual shows in the cpu compatibility list the Turion TL-52 Surely if i reinstall the sempron cpu, notebook works flawless

Acer finally released Windows 7 compatible drivers for both x64 - x86 versions for Aspire 5738 and probably others... (AS 7540 ; AS 7736; AS 5736; AS 4810T; AS3810T; including all the variants of those models have Windows 7 drivers in the download page ; Travelmate from 8331 to 8571 offers Windows x86 and x64 drivers as well..) To download them, go to [url] , select Aspire 5738 model or any other model mentioned previously, select OS "Windows 7 Ultimatex64" (In Travelmate driver downloads you can choose between x64 and x86 ). Every driver there has inside the x86 driver included NOTE: Even the ones that doesnt have an "x86" or 32bit folder they also work! Tested on my Aspire 5738. Everything works perfectly also de LAUNCH MANAGER! LASTEST LAUNCHMANAGER: V3.0.04 [url] V3.0.03 [url] V3.0.01 [url]
I have a Acer Aspire 5720G, with a Geforce 8400M GS graphics card apparently, i have every other driver installed for xp. The only one i cant seem to get to work is the graphics driver. I have tried Google and downloaded numerous drivers but i cant seem to find one that will work, they all either wont install because they don't recognize the hardware, or with custom inf's from laptopvideo2go they install then when i boot windows, then say they're incompatible and have reverted back to the default VGA drivers.
I just bought an aspire 4730 from staples yesterday. It comes with Vista Home Premium 32bit, but I'd like to install vista 64bit on it. The CPU supports it. It has a T3400 I went to acer support here [url] and looked up drivers for the 4730Z/4730ZG but the drivers that are shown are for the aspire 4330. And the only 64 bit drivers shown are for bluetooth (which the 4730 doesnt have), Intel graphics, and nvidia graphics (which it doesnt have). Where can i get wifi, motherboard, touchpad drivers for this model if i decide to run vista 64 on it? should i call acer support and ask them if vista 64 is supported?
i have a acer aspire 8920g that i got 3 months ago and i have vista 64bit installed in it.i want to change it to xp or even vista 32 because i do not like vista 64 but i think drivers will be an issue since this thing has a driver installed for everything.is there going to be a problem with the drivers?and if so can i find all the main drivers somewhere for it?

I recently downgraded my girlfriends Acer Aspire 3680 from Vista to XP as it became apparent that this notebook couldn't handle vista well; (on a side note, this is the second aspire 3680 that I have downgraded). For some reason no matter what I do the computer does not see the internal dial-up modem. Now, as its internal there is no installation disc, I have downloaded 6 different acer aspire 3680 modem drivers from Acer support centers and not a single one worked. In the Device manager, the modem drop down is not even there. I ran the modem troubleshooter and it detected no port was found, but Ports weren't in the device manager either. This one is really stumping me and i'm tired of looking at that screen.
I recently reformatted and installed xp on my Aspire 5680-6123, and finding drivers is tough. Ive got most of the things working, except for the Ethernet adapter. The drivers ive tried are the broadcom ones from the acer site, but nothing seems to work. The default drivers xp wants to install do not work either. Maybe im just doing something wrong, installing the drivers incorrectly.
I am having an Acer Aspire 1680 notebook with an AC'97 compatible soundcard apparently from Conexant, however unfortunately Windows 7 does not seem to recognise it automatically. I can install the XP drivers successfully but then all playback is stuttering and laggy. I also searched for Vista AC97 drivers respectively Vista Conexant drivers but they all do not appear to be compatible. Does anybody know whether there is a working driver for Windows 7?
