I am trying to get my torch 9810 to connect to my home wi-fi network and get the error "Failed to associate with the network". My wifes curve connects fine, and my old curve connected fine too. i upgraded and restored my data setups etc from a backup, but it hasnt worked since.
Since lately my BB Torch is failing to detect or connect to my home wifi system, I even notice that it can't connet to external open networks. I use to connect so seamlessly before but now my Torch don't want to do wifi no more. I get a message saying "fail to obtain IP address" or cannot connect for some other reason I have never had before. This is very distressing to my wife and I who can't connect our individual Torch to our home wifi anymore.<br><br>
my bb torch 9800 is not connecting to wifi settings in my home. i've spoken to tech people both at bell and rim with no solutions. i have three other bb in this house and all connect to wifi. when we change the protocol from wep to wpa my phone works but the others do not. the other phones are brand new. when we switch back to wep setting my phone "fails to associate with network".
i recently got a torch 9810 used to use bold...the problem i'm having that i didnt have with the bold is i cannot connect through the wifi at home...it tells me i'm connected but under 'service status' blackberry internet service is still using mobile network (carrier)...why its not changing that status where in the bold i could clearly tell that when i turn wifi on it shows under internet service WIFI.I've contacted my carrier (rogers) and they said its blackberry issue If i dont find a solution for this i may have to say good buy to my brand new torch (i just got it litteraly 2days ago )
i recently have purchased a bb 9360 and im tryin to connect to my home wifi but the error msg comes up sayin failed to associate with network. ive also tried it at my other family members house on there wifi and gettin the same msg, i use 2 hav a bb 8520 and had no problems conectin to the wifi. i live in a area with poor signal so i use the wifi for bbm, internet etc...
Torch 9810 - when I'm connected to my home network using the wifi mode on my phone, will I have direct access to files & folders on my network PC's?
new Torch is unable to associate with my work wifi network when it uses WEP password. If I change wifi network to WPA password, then it works (But I cannot change it because the network is unsing WDS and it isn't compatible with WPA). My old BB Pearl 8120 works fine with same network using WEP password. Therefore, what's happenign with Torch wifi?. Is there any wifi upgrade for Torch? For your information, the wifi router is an SMC Barricade-N (SMCWBR14-N) I have tried almost everything. I'm desesperate. Torch is giving connections problems also with my wifi home network and also with my bluetooth handfree car system. If there isn't a solution soon I will have to change it for another mobile.

I just got a Torch 9810. Been trying for the past day and a half to connect to my wireless at home. In the Networks and Connections menu the Wifi networks is not there . . .only have Mobile Networks and Bluetooth . . .does this mean that my BB is not Wifi enabled? or do I have to go elsewhere in order for it to search and find my home wireless?
I have a Torch 9810. Until a week or so ago, had no problems with my home wifi connection until suddenly it dropped the network. There have been no changes whatsoever in the wifi. I tried several times the solutions posted on various forums. Today I even reset to the manufacturer's setting - nothing.
I bought my blackberry torch on thursday got home and set it all up and i was able to connect to the internet, but when i just looked at it today, the wifi connection has completely gone but when i search for it it is still there, but says 'failed to associate with the network' any ideas of how i can connect it again?
I have just bought a 9810 and updated to the latest official OS from Telecom Serbia BlackBerry Handheld Software v184.108.40.2061. I am experiencing very weak wifi signals. My Bold 9000, iPhone and laptop can recognise over 10 wifi networks around my house. But the Torch 9810 cannot even recognise the one in my room, 10 ft away. However when I sit next to the Router it does recognise?
I would like to know if it's possible to turn my Torch 9810 into a personal wifi hotspot. I'd like to connect my iPad to the internet using my BB provider (as a "router").
My wifi at home is password protected, but when i first got my BB and connected it, it worked great, until yesterday it decided to play reindeer games.Like i said...It used to work great, but all of a sudden it just wont connect. It just says unable to connect reason: failed to associate with the network.what is wrong with my phone? why are all these little niggling problems arising in a phone that is only a couple weeks old?
I have bought BB Torch 9810 recently. And dowloaded latest version of BB Desktop software. I tried to synchronize the BB contact with Outlook 2007. However, it is taking 5 hours or more to do the same. And even after giving so much of time, it gives errors and only partial contacts are transferred to Outlook. (Previously I was using BB Torch and the sync was just taking 2-3 minutes).
I have a new BB Torch 9810 and I'm trying to restore from BB Protect but not all contacts restore - and it seems random which ones don't. I tried a resolution posted about unticking not restoring contacts which are e-mail synchronized but the only option under "Synchronisation Options" on my Torch is "Deleted items". When I look at the back-up data on Protect for the old device (Torch 9800) each synch has 2 Address Book entries with different numbers of items. Could it somehow be restoring only one of these two files?

I recently got a Bold 9900. For the first two weeks that I had it, it was unable to connect to my home WiFi network. The message 'Failed to associate with network' appeared when I tried to connect. Then it managed to connect to the WiFi itself without me interfering. However after 1 week it went back to the original situation.
I cannot get my new torch 9810 to charge with a usb car charger. All the ones I have tried (4 brands) do not work. The phone does not recognize them as a charging source. They will charge my ipad, iphone 4s , curve and torch 9800 but not my 9810. I am reluctant to buy a charger for this phone only. Fustrated again with BB.
I have recently activated an AT&T BB Torch 9810. I have received messages stating a couple apps including App World have updates ready to download.I tap on the link to update App World, Im greeted with the There is a newer version available 3.0.0.xx Tapping update gives me the green circle working prompt with a network activity icon, then disappears and nothing happens. Checking the App status, app world is listed as version 2.x.x, so clearly it is not updating. The device is logged into the BB account, and the terms and conditions has been accepted.I have tried downloading the app world update, and also facebook and BBM updates, on both my wireless carrier network and my home WiFi, with the same green working circle, and then nothing.
i recently brought a bb 9360 and ive bin lookin and theres not just me either havin this problem, every time i try 2 connect to my wifi the msg failed to associate to the network keeps poppin up, ive had no problems with my old fone 8520 conectin to the wifi its only this fone, i am on the latest os7, i live in a poor signal area and im always usin the internet and bbm so i realy need 2 connet to my wifi.
I have just upgraded from Bold 9000 to Torch 9810. I think BlackBerries are superb but . there are quite a few basic apps I had on my Bold, which show as 'unavailable for this device' in App World when I try and get them for my Torch 9810. A good example is the MobileMoney mobile banking app, and also the NatWest mobile banking app. When I tried to get the BB Feedback App, so I could request BB do something about it, the Feedback App itself was 'unavailable for this device' Is it just because the 9810 is such a new device and BB are working hard to get all the Apps available - or do they just not really care about Apps availability at all ?
I decided to try the WiFi hotspot available through 2.2. GREAT! Actually worked quite a bit better than I thought it would. Only trouble is, ... now I'm back at home, it fails to connect to the home network. + Restarting phone + Re-entering password + Forgetting network + refinding WiFi sees the network, says "Connecting", comes up "Failed to connect", "Scanning" and loops on that sequence. I know the router's working because this laptop is using it right now
I have a net gear router in my home and i connect it through the bb 9800, but the service status always shows that the bb internet service is connected through the mobile network, i tried it with another router and it was successfully working and the bb internet service is connected through the wifi whenever the wifi is connected.
When I'm at home I also use my wifi on the torch to connect to my home wifi, A few days a go my battery ran dry and was turn off, When I came home I turned everything on again but I can't connect to my wifi no more, I see it on my torch and use the right password but then I read somebody 'unable to obtain the IP address"
Got a new BB Bold, and have connected it to our WIFI hub at home to try to boost the signal as we have little or no network coverage at home, but despite a strong wifi signal on being picked up by my laptop the BB wifi signal is intermittent even when right beside the home hub.

I'm having a problem with my home wireless network and my Blackberry Torch. My phone is able to locate and connect to my home wireless network, but when I attempt to browse the internet, I get the following message: "Unable to connect to the internet, please try again later. If the problem persists please contact your service provider My internet and wireless network are working fine. I connected my desktop computer to the wireless network and browsed the internet without issue, my wife's phone (iPhone4) works without problem on the wifi network, and I checked with my internet service provider- they see no problems as well.On a hunch, I drove down to a local Starbucks to find a wifi hotspot. I found one, connected to it, and browsed the internet without any error messages. So now it appears that when I connect to a free wifi hotspot everything's fine but with my home network I get the error message above. The only thing I changed was the network.
I was so excited to have a Blackberry device and my choice was the Torch 9810 mainly for 3 reasons. 1- The big screen. 2- The touch screen with the sliding keyboard. 3- Latest OS. As I watched and read so many reviews about it and compared it to the Bold 9900 and the Torch 9860. The reviews for the Torch 9860 were somehow negative, and the sliding keyboard was a win over the Torch 9860. Bold seemed to be a good phone but the bigger screen was again what made me go for the Torch 9810. For a new Blackberry user like me, I couldn't really figure out much differences between the three phones. Unfortunately the Torch 9810 is not yet here in Egyptian market and I was about to buy a Bold 9900 till I noticed it would be locked to my carrier and then I changed my mind. I asked a family member to buy the Torch 9810 for me from the UAE and I finally got it one week ago.
I sent my Torch 9810 in to Rogers for repair (phone was overheating). Today they sent me a new replacement, because they couldn't fix the old one....but now the new one can't send or receive calls. I keep getting the error message "Call Failed due to Fading". Is this a network or a hardware problem? Rogers said it was the network and tech support said it could be the hardward..
When i connect my bb bold 9780 to my home wifi it connects to the network but iam unable to browse the internet. iam sure iam typing in the correct SSID and password. when i try to access the internet it gives an error message "unable to find the requested server". this is the case when iam trying to connect to other wifi connections as well outside my home.but i do not have any problems in connecting to wifi hotspots and it works perfectly fine?
I have BB 9780 and 8520.I can connect to my wifi at work and it works perfectly with the little bb logo showing.However at home, i can connect to the wifi, but can not get on the internet.i have tried re-setting my wifi router and also resetting my BB phones to factory default nothing seems to work though. All other devices at home (pc, mac, iphone, ipad other nokia phones etc) works semalessly at home wifi.
I started using my blackberry 2 days with other network I don't have a problem, connected to wifi, I download blackberry application. But I change it to new sim card and purchase the BB unlimited social service, I can connect to yahoo messenger, facebook, blackberry messenger same as the previous one but I cannot connect to wifi at home, I try manually as well. I have problem with my BB Torch 9860 smartphone.I used to connect my WiFi when i am in my home.In connection management it shows that WiFi connected but when I started to browse, the browsing is happening through my Wireless connection that is my mobile provider.So loosing my money due to this.I did so many checkups still facing same problem.Please assist me on this.Also I have one more problem with G-Talk, I installed it successfully and when tried to login showing that this handheld is not support gtalk application.Suggest me on this also.
On my BB Bold 9700 I used to have my BB calender synced with Google Calender and I used a Google Sync App to link them. I am trying to do the same on my BB Torch 9810 However I cannot find Google Sync on App World now.
I just bought the new Torch 9810. All was working fine for 2 days. I have 3 email accounts on my BB, 1 hotmail and 2 yahoo accounts. Now all of a sudden 1 account is not sending through to my BB. I have checked my password and I have unistalled and reinstalled that email account onto my BB. I received the email to say it was activated but nothing after that.
I want to add my son on my AT&T plan and put a chip in th 9810 torch that I no longer use. This phone was an outright purchase with no contract. When he is home or around any wifi hotspots, let him surf and stream Pandora to his hearts content. When not in range of wifi I want to prohibit all data access other than the unlimited text and phone. Is this possible? I've seen posts about setting the browser options to use wifi but the talk has been when wifi is no longer available it switches to the BB data. This is what I'm trying to prevent.
My Wifi works fine at home(WEP protected router also), but when i enter the right WEP password to school's network, it gives "Failed to associate with the network message"? School's instruction for mobile devices to connect is simple, simply scan and connect with the case-sensitive WEP.I checked and checked and checked i have entered the right WEP, theres just no go.anyone else experieced this? how do I solve this?
I am using Torch 9810 and I am facing problem during backing up my data through BB Desktop Software.Backup start smoothly but in the process it stops automatically and its gives Error saying "Cable is not connected Properly or make sure device is switched on".Same cable works fine while charging or transfering data from phone to pc or pc to phone.Everything works fine except the backup.
Brought my first BB yesterday,a Storm 2 as I hated my iphone - however my BB days could be numbered as first impressions are not so good !Got it unlocked through Vodaphone onto the Orange network as my Iphone contract still has 20 months to go !I cannot connect to the internet unless I am at home and connect through my wifi ?I get "This is a wifi service.Please ensure your device has an active wifi connection and try again "Is this one of many problems that I will get as i am on orange and not Voda ?Also can the memory be increased for music etc ?
Had this BB9700 for 2 weeks now, still struggling coz I can't connect to any WiFi. At home, even I turned the WiFi on it will only show white mark and the WiFi logo is still gray. When I try to scan for network to other areas it will ask for hotspot login. My friend can easily connect to her WiFi at home using the BB 9000 I cant understand. Do I need to setup anything?
I have a BlackBerry Torch 9810 from AT&T. The phone keeps on asking me the PUK code. Please help me to find the PUK code for my 9810 torch. I can't acces anything, not even the menu for my BlackBerry 9810!I am totally fed up with AT&T as they are robbing me of my money. I need to network unlock my phone from AT&T contract. I have a BB Torch 9860 which connects to my home Wifi fine but does not connect to the internet for some reason. I cannot access the net and get my emails or use a 3rd party browser like opera nor can i do anything. This is a major concern for me as it doesn't matter when i am home but it's amjor concern when i travel abroad.
Like many of you , I'm having WiFi connection problems with my new BB9700.When I am out of the house, I can see my BB finding local WiFI hotspots and I can connect to them immediately.However, when I get home, my BB doesn't connect to my WiFi, returning the following error message: Unable to Connect Reason: Failed to obtain an IP address I have downloaded the latest BB software (now running version 220.127.116.111), cold booted everything in sight (router, phone, coffee table and the cat) but still get the same error. My foot hurts, the cat isn't talking to me and I still cannot connect at home ! Of course my Carrier's connection works perfectly as does their outrageous fee structure... (They are 3G, or Hutchinson Telecom by another name.)My WiFi service provider (PCCW / Netvigator Hong Kong) has checked the setup of my system and reports that everything is working correctly. I can connect my PS3, my laptop, my Nokia E71 without any problem and the hotline guy can see when I connect each of them to the system.I have tried different combinations of switching the usual options on and off on the BB but still can't get a connection.
I just switched from a Storm 2 to the Torch 9810. My Torch will not enter landscape mode or even move from the portrit mode, so basically the accelerometer seems inop. I have pulled the battery and it will work for a few hours but then it stops again. I am trying to avoid pulling the battery every 8 hours. I have read online that the problem might be related to my transferring some old BB 5 settings to my new phone
I am on my 4th B.B. Torch 9810. At odd times when the keyboard is extended and I am typing an email or text msg. The screen will black out and bounce me out to the main screen. This has happened on every Torch I have received since January of this year.
I have a 9780 with OS6 bundle 2115 (v18.104.22.1680, platform 22.214.171.124), carrier is Maxis Communication.I was from Malaysia, usually I was using TM streamyx wifi service or even any other free wifi zone and it was fine to connect to BB enterprise server, recently I was upgraded my home network to Unifi service which is using fiber optic cable for more faster speed and stable, after upgrading to this I found out that I was unable to connect to BB enterprise server, do I need any new setting to calibrate to connect or need to refer to the service provider?
I've bought a Torch 9810, and when I connected it to my Desktop Sotware it suggested an update (software 7, bundle 2024). After that, my battery runs out / drains. All apps are closed properly and wifi and bluetooth off.
I am connected to my home wifi on the phone, but for some reason when I am browsing the web or trying to download apps from bb app world it uses my mobile network data services. Is there a way I can specify the phone to pick up wifi over the Mobile Services when connected to a wifi Network?
i am a previous owner of bb 8520 and has already an existing blackberry id.recently, i have upgraded to a torch 9810, but now i cannot login to my bb id account using my phone.however, i can login without problems with my id when using a computer.i cannot fully enjoy the features of my phone because of this.
My BB Torch 9810 is less than 3 months old. Yesterday Morning, I observed that it went off. I thot the battery was down, so I decided to charge it. Then it began the booting and rebooting and has not stopped till now. My BB pin is (personal info removed) perhaps there is something remotely that can be done.
I have 2 BB Torch 9810, Both have different IDs, but if I try to use the same e-mail, one of my phones will erase the others' e-mails, and vice-versa. How can I get two different BB IDs' for my phones and still use the same e-mails on both? Cause I need to access my e-mails in both phones.

My BB Torch 9810 stopped working. Worked with carrier no luck was sent a new phone. I was told that I could go through BB website to have all data wiped from the device. Can anyone confirm that this will indeed wipe all date from the phone even though it will not turn on, has no battery, SIM card or media card in it?
Recently my WiFi has not been working on my Blackberry Torch. The WiFi box under manage connections turns grey for a moment when checked and then automatically unchecks. Whenever I try to connect to a network that I already have set up (like my home), my phone says unable to turn WiFi on and the WiFi radio is off.I have tried rebooting my phone, turning it on and off, and even taking the battery out. Nothing seems to work!
Ive had my bb bold for a year now and all has been fine until a few days ago when it stopped using my wifi (although it says its connected as have wifi name on home page). On the service status page it says the BIS is connect by mobile network and BES is not connected.............normally they are both connected by wifi.

Got problem with the wifi on my bb9000.It seems after I upgraded the software to .266, my wifi couldn't working.Actually my bb sees the network and it connected -but I think it won't associate with the network.It says no data services.
my torch 9810 with the Desktop Manager (126.96.36.199). The situation is the following: If I go to the PC Device Manager (from "My Computer") I get the Blackberry device recognized and working properly, this means that the PC is understanding that I connected a BB. But when I open the Desktop Software and the BB Device Manager there is no way they can see it. I tried everything: 1) clean reinstallation of the software 2) Update of BB USB drivers 3) Different USB cables 4) Different USB ports 5) USB Drive/Sync Media/Charge Only modes 6) Full restart of the BB (alt-shift-del) 7) I followed many many many related topics I need to connect my BB because i need to reset it to factory settings since the battery is lasting maximum 1/2 day (no background running apps, no long backlighting, everything seems to be ok)...
I have a Curve 8320. Got it 1.5 weeks ago, and all that time it was able to connect to our home wifi network. Now, today, it suddenly can't, although it can connect to our neighbor's wifi next door, and my laptop can get our home wifi fine. Know what the issue is?Gives me error: W002, failed to connect. Having a problem when trying to sync my 9810 torch to my desktop software manager as I do not recall password. I tried the 3 attempts but failed. All my data was lost but I was able to recover data from a previous backup in June.I Do not want this to happen again so what should I do , system on software manager does not mention how to change or recover password Note: I removed device already from software manager but it still ask for a password to re-connect?
