I have an iPhone 4s and never had any problems but last night my iPhone stopped receiving text messages (from other iPhone users and other phone types). I messed around with my settings and my text messages started appearing again (although I can't remember what I pressed now)! I got a few people to send test text messages and I received these but again this evening I've stopped receiving text messages again. Info:iOS 5.1
I recently replaced my mobile number and received a new SIM card for my iPhone 3GS. Everything works as before it except I can't send texts off network (O2). They appear to get sent but are not received by the intended recipient. It works fine with other O2 users and sending messages abroad. I can receive texts from all networks. I have some confusion about iMessage. I could send and receive most of messages from other iphone users. But, I cannot receive messages from my parent in China, who also uses iphone. I know group messaging isn't supported on the 3GS, so I normally just paste the message into the "reply" box of an existing message that I sent to the group and had previously selected the recipients manually. This works OK..Kind of One bugbear is that if I receive a text from somebody in the group, then clearly I don't want to forward it back to him/her.However, I can't seem to find a way to amend the recipients (delete) to allow this...Am I missing something obvious..or can't you amend then when sending a message in this manner?? I've recently updated to carrier update 5.5 to enable MMS (iPhone 3.0). However, I can't send MMS photos from the camera roll to some phones. I suspected that the iPhone was sending the photos as large images, so I tried shooting a photo within "Messages", and that worked. It went through My question is I've read on other posts that there is a setting to control how large of a files MMS sends. It's supposedly located here:Settings > General > Network > Cellular Data Network > "MMS Max Message Size" BUT, when I go there on my iPhone, I don't have a "Cellular Data Network" option under Network. Why doesn't this option show up? I doubt many people on AT&T realize that some phones have a MMS file size limit, and that's why lots of MMS messages sent aren't going through. email is not working, i can send but can't receive Info: iPhone 4S, iOS 5.1
I can't seem to setup iMessage so that message are received both at my iPad and iPhone simultaneously. In other words, sync iMessage across my iOS devices. I have an iPhone 3GS and a new/gen 3 iPad. I want to receive messages at both locations/devices simultaneously when someone messages me at my mobile number via imessage. iMessage is setup and associated with the same apple ID/email address, as well as switched on at both my iPhone and iPad. Another user can iMessage me from their device and if addressed to/sent to me at my mobile number, I receive the message on my iPhone but not my iPad. I can receive messages on my iPad but only if they send it to my email address, i.e. my apple ID. In order for that to happen, they would have to go to their contacts, select me, then select "send message" and then choose my email address associated with my apple account. I then receive that message at both locations, iPad and iPhone. But I want the messages to be addressed to my mobile number since tha!s the default place people will have for me to send a message. I then changed my caller ID within iphone/settings/messages/caller ID from my mobile number to my email associated with my apple ID, i.e. my apple ID. Same result. I then tried rebooting both devices, but same result. I put my iPhone into wifi only (airplane mode with wifi on) to check if it was a network issue, but the result was still the same. How can I setup iMessage so that if a message is sent to my mobile number, I receive that message simultaneously at both my ipad and iPhone? It defeats the purpose if I would need to have all my contacts that use iMessage send to my email address. (iPad (3rd gen) Wi-Fi + Cellular (VZ), iOS 5.1.1, iPhone 3GS)
I have 2 messages in my Outbox of my MobileMe account on my iPhone which I cannot send or delete. They both have addressees however the error message states "Cannot send Mail, you did not specify any recipients". When I look at the mail , I see the message "this message has not been downloaded from the server" Unable to move message When I attempt to delete the message I get the message "The message could not be moved to the mailbox trash".Despite this, I can send and receive mail from the account. The messages were created by attempting to send photos from the iPhone when Roaming and losing contact to the phone system due to weak phone signals. I also see odd error messages when on line on Mobile me on Safari. I cannot see the messages on web mail. Information: iPhone Mac OS X (10.5.4) iPhone non 3G using up to date software

I have an Iphone 3g on verizon. I have a friend who sends out daily mass text messages containing an Internet link from a Droid LG thrill. I received the first 2 days of these messages, and then I stopped receiving them. I can send and receive email just fine on all my mail accounts but when I try and send a link from safari or a picture from the photos app it never sends. I don't hear a whoosh sound after sending and when I look in the mail app the message is just sitting there in the outbox.Even weirder is that I can forward these messages but can not send them. I can't even move the messages since my only choices are the trash or the outbox. Even worse the outbox doesn't show up at all on my mac when i sync, so these messages are stuck in my iphone somewhere in limbo. I have a 4 month old iPhone 5S and for some reason I'm not able to receive texts and photos from my friends who have Android phones. The only time I receive them is when I turn my data on. I have a very limited data plan and I would prefer to only turn it on in the case of an emergency, not to receive texts from friends. As of now, it seems that my phone is perfectly able to send texts to them, I just can't receive them.
I can no longer receive or send imessage photos within Yosemite Messages App. Standard txt messages work fine but Photo's do not. It started when I did an update on my phone software. Since then I could not receive photos, when one was sent this message would appear:***Not Retrieved Yet***(A clickable button) Download NowExpires : (A date and time)Whenever I clicked the download now button, it would say Retrieving Content but nothing else would happen after that.I tried sending photos and it said changing to MMS mode, but when I click send, it says Switing to SMS mode and where the delivery sign should be is a red X,I was able to send and receive photos prior to the update.
I have started to experience a new issue with my iPhone 5 this week. There have been several instances where I have sent a picture message to someone, after I send the photo, i go back to the messaging thread a few moments later and it doesn't show the picture(s)... It's as if I never sent the photo. I have asked my friend(s) if they got the photos i sent, but they said no, so I have to send a 2nd time.

I just got an iPhone 5s (my first smart phone), and I discovered that I can't receive group messages if my cellular data is turned off. This is true even if my phone is connected to a Wifi network. I just got a Blackberry Pearl 8110 in March. I am able to send MMS messages (pictures & videos), but I can't receive them. My carrier is AT&T and I have the Messaging 200 plan. I don't have a problem sending and receiving text messages. The pictures and videos I send always get to the right person. So I don't understand why I can't receive any MMS messages.
Is there a way to restrict the number of text messages you can receive in a day from one person? There's someone I work with, I sent a text to them about something they did, and then I got bombarded by over 20 text messages which froze my messaging (on another phone, I just got an iPhone 4s). I'm a longtime T-Mobile subscriber, but I don't have a camera phone.A family member loaned me their Samsung E335 so I could take some photos and e-mail them using MMS. The phone works fine on voice calls and receives SMS text messages (< 160 chars) without any problem, but nothing that relies on MMS or WAP is working (can't send/receive photos, and can't access T-Mobile's t-zones home page).T-Mobile says that when you send your first photo message, the system provisions your SIM to allow incoming MMS messages as well, but I still can't send or receive long text (>160 chars) or photo MMS messages. The phone shows that incoming MMS messages are waiting, but when I try to retrieve these messages, after a few seconds it displays a "Network Unavailable" error. Same error when trying to send a photo using MMS.At some point during the support call to tMobile, I got a "HTTP request fail" error, perhaps when they had me try to access t-zones. Again, voice calls work fine. This does not appear to be a signal strength or coverage issue. I believe it is a configuration issue.I used the phone configurator on T-Mobile's website to "push" WAP and MMS configurations to the phone, and I've used the *#VSWAP# and *#VSMMS# keyboard commands to get into the service menus and check the configuration on the phone.I called T-Mobile's customer support, which is always an adventure. After they "pushed" an update to the phone, I could get to the t-zones home page, which I guess meant that WAP was configured correctly, but I still could not send any MMS messages containing photos ("Network navailable"). They had me do a reset on the phone, but all that apparently did was cause WAP to stop working once again. So now I'm back to where I can't access t-zones, and I still can't send or receive photos using MMS. TMobile's 2nd level support couldn't offer any further help.I don't know what their support rep sent to the phone to get WAP working (until we reset the phone), but the "push" messages I sent to the phone when I used TMobile's handset configurator contained the following parameters. For the MMS PUSH. Profile Name: T-Mo MMS Bearer: GPRS IP Address: 220.127.116.11 IP Port: 9201 URL: http://18.104.22.168/servlets/mms APN: wap.voicestream.com For the WAP PUSH. Profile Name: T-Zones Bearer: GPRS IP Address: 22.214.171.124 IP Port: 9201 URL: h t t p : / / (remove spaces, followed by) wap.t-zones.com APN: wap.voicestream.com The phone's GPRS settings are as follows. IP: 126.96.36.199 Port: 9201 APN: wap.voicestream.com Login ID: (blank) Password: (blank) Bearer: GPRS only Can anyone offer any insight as to what might be the problem ? The only suggestions T-Mobile's 2nd level support could offer was to try replacing the SIM card or replace the phone.

I'm having a problem accepting text messages directly to my number from another iPhone. I'm on a family plan and all 3 phones are iPhone 5. This morning my mother in law was texting my wife and I (group message), but I never received anything. When I looked on my wife's iPhone I saw my number was there correctly. My mother in law can only send me messages if she sends them to my Apple ID. I checked my message settings > send receive and both my number and Apple ID are checked. i Don't have any trouble sending or receiving messages from non iphones.
I ive in China, on China Mobile system. I bought iPhone 4S in China. I am unable to send photos from the Camera Roll. I've tried selecting the photo and then selecting "Messages" from the bottom of the screen. This brings up the Messages app where I input the contact for recipient. When I send, they get an empty "bubble" and it shows as an empty green "bubble". I tried sending to another iPhone 4S (from USA), also on China Mobile network, but it won't go to them either and it isn't being sent as iMessage (blue) even though I have iMessage turned on in Settings. On HTC android phone, I could easily send pics as SMS/MMS, using same SIM card/carrier that is now in my new iPhone 4S...what gives? What is correct way to send photos from my iphone to other phones?
Finally, I can send and receive media to/from friends! Also, my iPhone 3G seems to work just fine sending and receiving MMSs, while my girlfriend's iPhone 3GS doesn't seem to work. She can receive MMS, but anytime she tries to send one, she gets a red ! next to the photo saying "Error Sending Message. Try Again". I followed the same procedure to enable MMS as I did on my iPhone. OS 3.1 then updated carrier settings via iTunes 9.0.1.
I have a problem. Every time I try to send a photo to my girlfriend on her iPhone via chomp or stock messenger, she never receives them. But she can send me photos just fine.I've tried to lower the quality down and she still does not receive them. I always have to resort to emailing them to her.Does anyone know why this is happening?I thought I read about this on her before but I couldn't find the thread so I apologize if this has already been discussed before.
I can no longer e-mail photos from the Camera Roll, but I used to be able to. I get an "undeliverable" message. I can, however, still send e-mails from the e-mail account I have set up on my iPhone to the same address I'm trying to send the photos to. This tells me the e-mail account is still set up correctly, but why won't the photos go to the same e-mail address as the regular e-mail? Information: iPhone 3G 8GB Other OS

We have 2 iphones an 8gb 3G and a 32Gb 3GS. The 3g has no problems at all sending MMS messages, the 3GS however will only send photos taken with the camera whilst in the mms application. It will always fail to send saved photos. Both phones are on the UK O2 network with the Iphone bolt on and all settings are the same. Has anyone else had this problem and managed to resolve it.

When a group message is sent between my co-workers, who are all iphone users, and myself (Note 3), one person in the exchange does not receive the text. This is not the common iMessage issue that was plaguing me when I made the switch from Apple to Android. This is specifically affecting one iphone user. When I send her a text individually it is not a problem. The other iPhone users don't have a problem receiving or sending to me.
i can't send message but i can receive messages and calls.
I can receive message from other phones but I can't reply or send them back message.
I have Iphone 5 (IOS 7.0.4) and MacBook Pro running OS X, Mountain Lion, Version 10.8.5. I want my iPhone SMSs to be sent and received through my computer because sometimes it is difficult to run an SMS chat with tiny keyboard of iPhone instead better doing it with my computer keyboard. I opened my computer's Messages/ Preferences/Accounts, tried a lot to configure my phone number and build the bridge to send and receive SMSs from my computer instead of iPhone, but unfortunately couldn't find the proper steps to do it.
So this question is actually about my friends iPhone 4... She and I text on a daily basis and we use iMessages. As of two days ago, every time I sent her an iMessage, it would fail and I would have to send it as a text message. Well we finally figured out it was because her iMessages were turned off (probably by her 2 year old daughter.) So she turned them back on and she sent me an imessage. But when she sent the imessage and I received it, I received the message from her apple id, not her phone number which is what I normally receive her messages from. Her and I can't figure out how to change it back to her phone number.. Info: iPhone 4, iOS 7.1.1, My friends phone
